Road resurfacing begins for Anderson Island

Beginning Monday, July 12, Pierce County Public Works and Utilities will begin resurfacing multiple locations on Anderson Island as part of regular maintenance. The locations will be resurfaced in the following order:

  •  92nd Street Court at Otso Point
  • 93rd Street Court at Otso Point
  • 107th Avenue Court at 105th Street Court
  • 106th Avenue Court at 105th Street Court
  • Lyle Point at Agate Beach
  • Agate Beach at Lyle Point
  • Mill Place at Dead End
  • Selma Circle at Suncrest Drive
  • Yoman from “Waiting Lanes” to Eckenstam Johnson Road

This project is part of Public Works and Utilities’ effort to preserve existing roads through innovative resurfacing techniques. The Roads Operations division will use an asphalt micro-resurfacing procedure designed to improve ride and provide additional strength to the road surface, extending the life cycle for 12 to 15 years.

An informational sign is posted for people coming off the island, and signage will be placed at each location at least 2 days prior to the start of resurfacing. The Road Operations division will be performing the work and requests that people do not park on the designated streets and keep roads dry during resurfacing.

There may be short work-zone delays. The maintenance work should be complete by July 22. Inclement weather could delay the project by a few days.

If you have any questions, please call the Road Operations division at (253) 798-6000.
