I grew up and went to college in Portland, Oregon. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Arts and Letters and my Master of Science degree in Communication Studies from Portland State University. After completing college, I moved to Seoul, South Korea to teach ESL at a private elementary school. I later completed my TESOL Certification through Seattle University. Recently I’ve had many opportunities to travel, visiting the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, Canada, Hawaii, and Central America. I feel lucky to have visited so many new places in the last few years. I love spending time with my family, and I also enjoy volunteering as a docent with the Museum of Glass. My message: “A culture of meanness is not alright with me” -Gwen Ifill
