I have used the Home Town Clipper as my main advertising resource since I opened DuPont Therapeutic Massage eight years ago. Back in those days it was simply a coupon clipper on a single sheet of paper, hand-delivered door-to-door by kids on bikes. I’d say I get at least 85% of my business from my Clipper ad, and rarely is there a month that I don’t get at least 2 or 3 new clients. I have experimented with other publications, including the phone book, but nothing has been as effective as the Clipper. I find that most people prefer to use services that are close to home, and they like to support local businesses. Being a home-based business I don’t have a store-front location or a sign, so I rely on my Clipper ad to get the word out to DuPont. Now that it has evolved into a more traditional newspaper, residents read the Clipper to keep up on current events and to find services that are close to home. I have a question on my intake form that asks, “How did you hear about me?” Nearly all of my customers write “saw your ad in the Clipper.” I think that says it all. - DUPONT MASSAGE, Heidi Lee
The Clipper has been an incredible voice for my business. Every month I publish an ad in the Clipper and every month I receive calls from residents who are looking for skincare services. This is a fabulous indicator that The Clipper does it’s job and more by reaching our community and providing an excellent resource of local information. As a resident and small business owner myself, I appreciate their continued efforts to continually create new programs within their paper to help me reach my clients. Much gratitude to The Clipper and much gratitude for all the client support of my business in DuPont! - PURELY SKIN, Rachel Nelson
It wasn’t long before clients started calling. My business in DuPont increased by 250% and the area became a third of our business in the next year and a half. Ninety percent of the time, my clients found us in the Clipper. My inquiries from Steilacoom tripled since the Clipper started servicing that city too. I consider advertising with them an important key to our continual growth. - BELLWETHER PET CARE (formerly Den Mother’s), Marie Rosa
