Carruth Studio Artwork for Sale

The Steilacoom Historical Museum Association hopes to sell $3,000 of Carruth Studio artwork in its current museum fundraiser, according to Brad Randall, coordinator for the fundraising project. Orders for the nationally - recognized artwork will be accepted through July 27 at the annual Steilacoom Salmon Bake.

Randall said he has made arrangements with the Carruth Studio to offer the garden ornaments and sculpture pieces. He will be at the salmon bake on Sunnyside Beach in Steilacoom showing pieces and taking orders. Orders can also be placed at the Steilacoom Museum’s store through the end of the month.

Each piece is hand cast in stone and offers a lifetime guarantee, whether displayed indoors or out. The collection includes bird feeders, plaques and free-standing sculptural pieces. They range in price from $18 to $46, each sure to “Plant a Smile!” These “Proudly made in the USA” designs will arrive in individual gift boxes.

The unusual pieces are the work of nationally-recognized Ohio sculptor George Carruth. The originality of his work has earned him commissions from the Washington National Cathedral, HGTV, the White House and several national retailers! These pieces have appeared in countless catalogs and craft galleries nationwide.

For additional information or to obtain a catalog, contact Brad Randall (253)584-2106 or by e-mail: brandall2@msn.com

Put a little “WOOF” into your schedule and help us get some of our foundation animals adopted out!

Woofstock '08 is upon us and we are looking for volunteers to represent Kindred Souls Foundation! Woofstock '08 is a pet adoption music festival sponsored by the Dugan Foundation. This is an event for all adoptable companion animals, from dogs and cats to bunnies and ferrets.

Woofstock ‘08 will be held on August 3rd from 10am – 4:30pm at the University of Puget Sound's Todd Field.  We need volunteers to represent us at our booth! Available shifts are 10:00-1:30  or  1:30-5:00 (includes take-down).

We will be set-up in Adoption Village along with other rescue and adoption groups from all around the northwest. We will pass out information on Kindred Souls Foundation and talk with folks about who we are and what we do. Cookbooks will be available to purchase. If you have a foster dog that you would like to bring along for some exposure to potential adoptive families, you are welcome to do so.  Please remember to bring food and water for your fosters and know that they must be on leash and under control at all times.

Merchant Village will have everything people need for the furry kids! Festival music will be ongoing and there will be demonstrations and entertainment by the Fort Fido Flyers flyball group.  It will be a day of fun activities and information for the whole family, including your animal companions! Admission is free.

We are excited to invite you to join our new dog group called “Being Dogs” who will be meeting once a month for “Dog Play Afternoon”! Inspired by the good times had at our 1st annual summer picnic and our KSF-ART picnic, we want to get the dogs together once a month for some socializing and play!

We kick off Dog Play Afternoon this Saturday, July 26th, at Ft Steilacoom Park (off leash area) from 11:00am – 12:00pm

Look for more info to come on future dates! Everyone is invited! You don’t have to attend all the play dates to be a part of the group- this is just a casual gathering for you and your dogs to join for some socializing and exercise!

Good hard dog play makes for a well-rested human! Join us for some good times!
